[Wu-studierende] Code of Conduct: WE at WU

Liebe Studierende der WU,
das neue Studienjahr steht unmittelbar bevor und ich freue mich vor allem darauf, euch wieder vermehrt live am Campus zu sehen!
Die letzten drei Semester haben wir alle den Großteil unserer Interaktionen in den virtuellen Raum verlegt. Dabei wurde sichtbar, dass Online-Formate besonders dazu verleiten, die Regeln eines fairen und respektvollen Miteinanders in Vergessenheit geraten zu lassen. Dies hat die WU zum Anlass genommen den Code of Conduct für Studierende<https://www.wu.ac.at/studierende/campus/code-of-conduct> (WE at WU) dahingehend zu ergänzen.
Zu Beginn des neuen Studienjahres möchte ich „WE at WU“ in den Fokus rücken. Der Code of Conduct beinhaltet Regeln für das Miteinander an der WU, die für alle Angehörigen der WU Community bindend sind. Unsere Grundregel lautet „Respekt für andere und deren Meinung“. Respekt und Wertschätzung sind Voraussetzung für die Diskussionen und Reflexionen über vielfältige Themen, welche die Zeit des Studierens prägen. Daher wünsche und erwarte ich mir, dass der Code of Conduct von uns allen gelebt wird.
Ab 27. September wird euch beim Login auf Learn eine Kurzfassung des Code of Conduct angezeigt. Mit der verpflichtenden Bestätigung erklärt ihr, dass ihr die Regeln gelesen habt und als Basis für unser Miteinander an der WU respektiert. Zusätzlich gibt es zwei Fragen zu Themen des Code of Conduct zu beantworten, die der persönlichen Reflexion dienen - es erfolgt keinerlei Speicherung bzw. Auswertung der Antworten.
Im Sinne eines lebendigen und respektvollen Austausches freue ich mich auf das bevorstehende Studienjahr und wünsche euch viel Erfolg und Spaß!

The new academic year is just around the corner, and I’m especially looking forward to seeing many of you back on campus in person!
Over the last three semesters, we were forced to move most of our interactions online. One thing we learned is that in online formats, people are tempted to forget the rules of fair and respectful interaction. WU has taken this as an opportunity to amend the Code of Conduct for Students<https://www.wu.ac.at/studierende/campus/code-of-conduct> (WE at WU).
At the beginning of this new academic year, I would like to call your attention to “WE at WU.” The Code of Conduct lays out rules for interacting with each other at WU. These rules are binding for all members of the WU community. Our basic tenet: respect for others and their opinions. Respect and appreciation are prerequisites for the discussions and reflections on a wide variety of topics that characterize our time as students. For this reason, I expect everyone at WU to comply with the Code of Conduct.
As of September 27, you will be shown an abridged version of the Code of Conduct when you log in to Learn. With your agreement, you confirm that you have read and understood the rules and that you respect them as the basis for our cooperation at WU. In addition, there are two questions to be answered on topics included in the Code of Conduct, which are intended for your personal reflection only – the answers will not be saved or evaluated in any way.
