In the context of Europe’s climate targets and Germany’s energy transition, the energy world is facing sustainable change. Utilities’ classic business of power and gas sales is put under pressure by competition from new market players and shifting business models. This development pushes these companies to engage in new businesses where one of the most promising areas is distributed energy.

A.T. Kearney supported a leading international utility company which founded a start-up inside the group to grow the distributed energy business. Among other, A.T. Kearney was asked to develop a sales strategy and to help boost sales performance.

In the next Strategy Lounge, we will share with you first-hand insights on the dynamic process of starting up a business unit in the field of renewable energy and discuss key questions such as:
