Liebe Studierende,

die Übersiedelung auf den neuen Campus steht unmittelbar bevor. Die ersten Support-Einheiten wie etwa die IT-Services oder der Sicherheitsdienst haben bereits Quartier am Welthandelsplatz 1 bezogen. Im Zeitraum vom 15. August bis 01. September werden alle weiteren Einheiten die neue WU besiedeln.
Im Zuge des Umzugs wird es zu einzelnen Schließtagen und/oder eingeschränkter telefonischer Erreichbarkeit der Serviceeinrichtungen und der akademischen Einheiten kommen. Bitte informieren Sie sich auf den Homepages der einzelnen Einrichtungen, wann deren Übersiedelung erfolgt und ab wann sie am neuen Campus für Sie geöffnet sein werden.

Die Übersiedelung auf den neuen Campus stellt für die WU und das Team der Übersiedelungsfirma eine große Herausforderung dar. Es werden nicht nur knapp 1.300 Arbeitsplätze übersiedelt, sondern auch die gesamte Bibliothek, das Studierendenarchiv, die IT-Infrastruktur uvm...

Trotz intensiver Vorbereitung und Planung ist damit zu rechnen, dass in dem einen oder anderen Bereich nicht alles von Beginn an reibungslos ablaufen wird. Wir alle werden einige Wochen brauchen, um uns am neuen Campus zu orientieren, diesen zu erkunden und uns mit den neuen Technologien und Services vertraut zu machen. Ich ersuche Sie daher um Verständnis, falls nicht vom ersten Tag an alle Abläufe und Einrichtungen optimal funktionieren und bitte Sie gleichzeitig um Ihre Unterstützung dabei, den Campus zu einem herausragenden Ort des Lehrens und Lernens zu machen. Wir werden dafür einen neuen Feedback-Kanal zur Verfügung stellen (Infos dazu folgen unmittelbar nach der Übersiedelung), über den Sie uns Ihre Anregungen, Wünsche und Beschwerden zum Campus mitteilen können.

Ich wünsche Ihnen einen schönen und erholsamen Sommer und freue mich auf das kommende Studienjahr an der neuen WU!

Dear students,

The move to the new campus is coming up fast. A few administrative support units like IT and Security Services have already moved to Welthandelsplatz 1. The rest of WU's administrative and academic units will follow between August 15 and September 1, 2013.
In the course of the relocation there will be some restrictions in availability for the service and academic units (days closed and/or limited availability by telephone). Please check the webpages of the individual units to inform yourself about their moving schedules and their availability on the new campus.

This move represents a major challenge for WU and its relocation service. Not only do approximately 1,300 offices have to be moved, but also the entire library, the archives, the IT and communications infrastructure, and much more.

In spite of intensive preparation and planning, it is probably to be expected that not everything will function completely smoothly from day one. It will take us a few weeks to get oriented on campus, to explore the area, and to get familiar with new equipment and services. For this reason, we ask for your patience and understanding if certain procedures or services don't work quite as well as planned right from the start. At the same time, we are hoping you will contribute towards making our new campus an ideal environment for teaching and learning. We will be establishing new feedback opportunities (further information will be provided immediately after the move), giving you the chance to let us know any suggestions, comments, and complaints you may have about the new campus.

I wish you a great, relaxing summer and I am looking forward to the upcoming academic year on our brand-new campus WU!
