[Wu-studierende] Systemumstellung der Spamfilter Quarantaene

Beginnend mit 19. Februar 2009 wird es eine kleine Umstellung des SPAM
Filter Systems geben. Was sich für Sie eventuell ändert ist der
Mechanismus der Quarantäne.

Es werden in Zukunft als SPAM erkannte E-Mails in einem neuen Unterordner
der Mailbox abgelegt.

Für BenutzerInnen, die nicht auf den Exchange Server migriert wurden,
lautet dieser Folder

    auto_wuspam

(bei manchen Mailprogrammen muss dieser Folder erst abonniert werden,
damit er sichtbar wird).

Für BenutzerInnen, die ihre Mailbox am Exchange Server haben, werden als
SPAM erkannte Mails automatisch in den dafür vorgesehenen Junkmail
Folder zugestellt.

Da Sie die SPAM Mails jetzt direkt im auto_wuspam Folder (oder Junkmail
Folder) überprüfen können, wird in Zukunft auch kein Spam-Report mehr
verschickt.


Ihre Anti-Spam Einstellungen können Sie wie gewohnt via Controlpanel
verwalten:

  https://controlpanel.wu-wien.ac.at/spamconfig.php

Ihre bestehenden Einstellungen ändern sich nicht.

Auf Wunsch können Sie:

  * den Spamfilter deaktivieren.

  * die Mails in Quarantäne nehmen (d.h.: Zustellung in den auto_wuspam
    oder Junkmail Folder)

  * die Mails blocken (die als SPAM erkannten Mails werden kommentarlos
    verworfen)


Die SPAM-Mails aus dem auto_wuspam Folder werden nach 30 Tagen
automatisch gelöscht. Sie sollten diesen Folder daher ab und zu
kontrollieren, es ist aber nicht notwendig, den Folder "händisch" zu leeren.

BenutzerInnen, die ihre Mails über das POP-Protokoll abfragen (oder
BenutzerInnen, die den auto_wuspam Folder aus Sicherheitsgründen gar
nicht abonnieren wollen), können den auto_wuspam Folder via Webmail:

   http://webmail.wu-wien.ac.at

kontrollieren.

Starting on February 19 2009 we will have a small change in our SPAM-Filter
setup. This could bring a difference for you in how SPAM-Mails are put into
quarantine.

We plan to quarantine E-Mails which are classified as SPAM into a separate
sub-folder in your inbox.

For users who have not yet been migrated to the "Exchange" server the name
of this folder is

    auto_wuspam

(Depending on the mail client you use this folder has to be "subscribed"
first in order to be visible).

For users who have their mailbox on the "Exchange" server all E-Mails that
are classified as SPAM will go to the default Junkmail folder.

Since you can check this folder directly in your mail client we will
discontinue to send "SPAM-Report" messages from now on.

As usual, you can change your anti-SPAM settings via the "Controlpanel" at:

  https://controlpanel.wu-wien.ac.at/spamconfig.php

Your current settings will not be changed.

You can either choose to:

  * deactivate SPAM-Filtering

  * to quarantine SPAM (it will be delivered to the
    "auto_wuspam" or "Junkmail" folder)

  * to block SPAM (all mails classified as SPAM will be silently discarded)


SPAM-mails older than 30 days will be deleted automatically from the
auto_wuspam folder (or "Junkmail" folder for Exchange Users), so there is no
need for you to do manual clean-ups concerning this folder.

Users who still receive their mail via the old POP-protocol (or users who
opt not to subscribe to the auto_wuspam folder at all - let's say for security
reasons), can still manage the auto_wuspam folder via our webmail system:

In case you need any further information or advice regarding our new spam
