  A talk by *Harvey Molotch*, New York University


*Harvey Molotch, *Professor of Metropolitan Studies and Sociology at New 
York University, will talk about the two urban models that currently 
sweep the world:  the Greenwich Village model with its face-to-face 
neighborhood interaction, and - extreme in contrast - the Abu Dhabi 
model, i.e. cities built through deliberate contrivance. Professor 
Molotch will explain how both models work and what we can learn from each.

Before joining NYU Harvey Molotch was Centennial Professor at the London 
School of Economics and on faculty at the University of California, 
Santa Barbara.
