The Administration and Congress are working to pass Trade Promotion
Authority (TPA) and the Trans Pacific Partnership while American politics
is increasingly intertwined with the 2016 presidential election. With new
leadership now in place in the European Union, the prospect for progress on
TTIP seems hopeful, but completing an agreement will take expert political
dexterity on both sides of the Atlantic.

Having been a decisive vote in Congress on the last TPA bill and having
served as a trade advisor for both President George W. Bush and President
Barack Obama, the Honorable Mark Kennedy <http://markkennedy.com/>,
Director and Professor of George Washington University’s Graduate School of
Political Management <http://gspm.gwu.edu/> (GSPM), will provide an
overview of what it will take to strengthen the essential partnership
between the United States and Europe.
