 Hello All,

While it will be impossible for anything connected with WU to top Austria's
dazzling moment of global victory this weekend* here are a few events to
keep your spirits up this coming week:

1. Pub Quiz at Johnny's. Tuesday, 13 May, 19.00.   The D4 table is again
reserved for pub quiz night at Johnny's Pub, Schleifmuhlgasse 11, 1040.

Last week, we had four participants, each of whom drank two beers. The team
scored 8 correct answers on the pub quiz.  Now, as serious researchers we
are naturally suspicious of a perfect correlation between any two
variables, especially when one is "beer". Obviously, more data are needed,
so come out and help us continue this groundbreaking research.  Please send

2. Critical Mass Wien.  Friday, May 16, 17.00 , Treffpunkt:
Schwartzenbergplatz. http://www.criticalmass.at/category/wien  Monthly mass
bike ride. Take a leisurely pedal around the city with hundreds of fellow
cyclists and an impressive police escort.  A way to engage in street
protest without fear of going to jail.  (Note: these folks are part-time
anarchists, so they never start on time and you don't know where you are
going--ride usually lasts about 1.5 hours.)

3. Craft Bier Fest. Friday thru Sunday May 16-18, Donaukanal at the
Salztorbrucke, 1020  http://www.craftbierfest.at/   10 euros gets you a
tasting glass and tickets for 10 samples.

4. Wiener Festwochen.  Now thru 15 June. All over town.  Calendar and
