A.T. Kearney Strategy Lounge

“How to start a start-up”
May 24, 2012

The next A.T. Kearney Strategy Lounge aims to introduce the internet start-up scene to interested students. The presentation will cover the following topics:

1.     Identifying the biggest future trends. What are the most promising trends and related new ventures – including the question why retail banks are on the verge of losing large parts of their core business to start-ups.

2.     Getting the right information. Which information channels do I need to cover to gain a feeling for the start-up scene?

3.     Finding jobs in start-ups. How can I find jobs in start-ups? Which academic background or skillset do I need? Which salaries can I expect?

4.     Building up a social network. Where can I find potential co-founders, peers and investors?

5.     Financing a start-up in Austria. Which sources of financing are available? For which subsidies can I apply for and how much effort is required for the application?

6.     Planning your career. Why a detour via consulting is a worthwhile venture.

Whether you are truly interested in starting a company sometime or whether you are just interested to see which start-ups will shape the world next – this Strategy Lounge will provide insight.
